Write permissions in Plesk

To grant write permissions to a file or folder in Plesk, please follow the steps below.

  1. Log in to Plesk:

    • Open your browser and go to the Plesk login page.
    • Enter your credentials and log in.
  2. Navigate to Websites & Domains:

    • Click on Websites & Domains from the left-hand menu.
    • Select the domain you want to work with.
  3. Open File Manager:

    • Click on File Manager under the selected domain.
  4. Select Folder or File and Change Permissions:

    • Navigate to the folder or file you want to change.
    • Click the menu icon alongside the file or folder and then click on Change Permissions.
  5. Set Write Permissions:

    • In the permissions dialog, find the user or group that requires write access.
    • Check the Write box for that user or group.
    • Apply the changes.

Notes

  • Security Considerations: Be cautious when setting write permissions, especially for public or group access, as it can pose security risks.
  • Recursive Permissions: If you need to set permissions for all subfolders and files within the folder, ensure you select the option to apply changes recursively if available.
  • Check Application Requirements: Make sure the specific write permissions you set align with the requirements of your web application or website.

By following these steps, you can set a folder or file writable in Plesk for Windows and ensure your web applications have the necessary permissions to function correctly.
