Linux Server NS3: FSCK

10-03-2009

11:54 am: Linux Server NS3 had a file system error and services were not responding properly. We then rebooted the server after which it went into an auto FSCK and is prompting for a full manual FSCK.

We will now be running an FSCK (which is like scandisk on windows) to correct any file system issues and then bring the server back online once it completes.

An FSCK can normally take 1-2 hours.

12.20pm: FSCK is still running at this time.

12.25pm: Server is online and services are starting up.

12.35pm: All services responding normally now.
