Simple Guide: How to restore a website and database using JetBackup in cPanel

To restore a website and database using JetBackup in cPanel, follow these simple steps:

Website Files Restore (Home Directory)

  1. Login to cPanel.
  2. Scroll down and click on “JetBackup 5” or “JetBackup”.
  3. Click on “File Backups” or “Home Directory”.
  4. Choose a backup date you want to restore from.
  5. Click the “Restore” or “Restore Files” button.
  6. Confirm the restore when prompted.

Database Restore

  1. In JetBackup, go back to the main menu.
  2. Click on “Database Backups”.
  3. Find the database you want to restore.
  4. Choose the date you want to restore from.
  5. Click “Restore”, then confirm.

Notes:

  • Restoring the Home Directory will bring back website files (HTML, PHP, WordPress files, etc.).
  • Restoring the Database brings back the site content/settings if it’s a CMS like WordPress.
  • If unsure which database belongs to your site, check the website’s configuration file (like wp-config.php for WordPress).

This process typically takes a few minutes. Once both are restored, your website should be back as it was on the selected backup date.
